Welcome to the official website of the Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums. The Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums consists of members who are active, former or retired law enforcement officers from federal, state, county and local agencies. Members with no law enforcement experience are a vital part of our organization who fully support law enforcement, first responders and our United States Military. This Band is a non-profit, tax exempt charitable organization under Illinois law and Section 501 (c)(3).
The Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums is dedicated to honoring Veterans and First Responders who sacrificed in the defense of their country. The Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums will provide programs and services for families and individuals in need.
The band has played at events that include retirements, graduation ceremonies, award ceremonies, picnics, festivals, parades, funerals and events honoring our country, military, law enforcement and all first responders.
The name of Chicago Garda Pipes and Drums is based on the Irish National Police – GARDA SIOCHANA “Guardian of the Peace”. More commonly referred to as the GARDAI or “THE GUARDS”. At the suggestion of our GARDA law enforcement brothers/sisters in Ireland THE CHICAGO GARDA PIPES AND DRUMS was born.
